The Korea-Japan Relations and its Symbiosis in East Asia

On October 18, INHA Center for International Studies co-hosted an international academic conference under the theme of at Inha University's small assembly hall with the Korean Association of Contemporary Japanese Studies.
 
The event was also sponsored by the Northeast Asian History Foundation and Academy of Korean Studies. Starting with the opening remarks of Kim Woong Hee, president of the Korean Association of Contemporary Japanese Studies and Lee Jean Young, director of INHA Center for International Studies, all participants delivered presentations and discussed different subjects in a total of three sessions.

The theme of the first session consisted of ‘Korea-Japan Competition and Cooperation over the Ocean,’ and the theme of the second session was ‘The Road to Normalization of Korea-Japan Relations and Reconciliation between Korea and Japan.’ In the third session, the roundtable, an in-depth discussion continued on the theme of ‘Symbiosis in East Asia: Korean Studies in Japan and the Role of Japanese 
Studies in Korea.’

Several domestic and foreign researchers, including professor Lee Seok Woo of Inha University, Yuji Fukuhara of Shimane Prefectural University, research professor Lee Seung Jae of INHA Center for International Studies, and professor Lim Eun Jung of Gongju National University, participated as presenters to share academic insights.
